WHAT LED YOU TO THE FIELD OF INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY?
My journey into Interventional Radiology began with the realization that imaging is crucial for modern medical diagnosis and treatment. This understanding led me to pursue a residency in Radiology. However, it was the experience of minimally invasive surgical methods in IR and their tremendous impact that truly captivated me and solidified my passion for this field.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF CLINICAL EXPERTISE?
I specialize in interventional oncology, including treatments like radioembolization and tumor ablation. I also focus on endovascular repair of artery aneurysms and minimally invasive procedures for vascular malformations. I handle deep vein and pulmonary artery thrombectomy, and provide treatments for PAD, such as angioplasty and stenting. Additionally, I perform IVC filter removal, prostate and uterine fibroid embolization, and emergency interventions for bleeding. My expertise also extends to hepatobiliary interventions, including TIPS, BRTO, and biliary procedures.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I find immense satisfaction in performing curative and palliative cancer treatments, endovascular procedures for vascular aneurysms and malformations, and various embolization procedures. What I enjoy most is seeing the positive impact our minimally invasive treatments have on patients’ lives.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
In my free time, I love enjoying the diverse seasons of Minnesota and spending quality time outdoors with my wife and kids.
