A Laser Genesis facial is a non-invasive procedure that uses a laser to gently heat the skin, resulting in the production of new skin cells and activation of collagen. Is there any downtime and how long does it take?
A Laser Genesis facial is a safe procedure with minimal side effects. If you have sensitive skin, slight redness and possible swelling are the most common side effects and can last for 24 hours. Most patients notice mild redness immediately after treatment which will resolve in a few hours. Treatments take about 30 minutes once we get started.
Targeted areas for treatment?
Laser Genesis facials are most commonly done on the face or neck, although the procedure is suitable anywhere on the body. Some patients get laser genesis on their neck, shoulders, décolletage and hands. It all depends on the areas of concern.
How many treatments do I need?
In most cases, you will need a series of 4 to 6 treatments spaced out every 2 to 4 weeks to see optimal results. Improvements are gradual, you will notice your skin looks brighter and more youthful, and your pores look smaller after 3 treatments. Results will continue to improve for months after the last treatment is completed. To maintain your results over time, ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged. It is recommended that you have a Genesis facial every 6-12 months and protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30.
What does a Laser Genesis facial feel like?
During the procedure, you will experience a gentle warming sensation or concentrated production of heat on your skin’s surface. This sensation mimics what you feel when you’re in the sun and your skin starts to feel warm or hot from being exposed. If it feels too hot, adjustments are made based on patient feedback.
